About Us

Standing for Dignity and Care

Majha Sankalp Muscular Dystrophy Mukticha Association (MSMDM Association) is a community-based organisation dedicated to supporting individuals affected by Muscular Dystrophy across Maharashtra. This rare genetic condition progressively weakens muscles, affecting mobility, breathing and cardiac function. While there is no permanent cure, structured medical support and rehabilitation can significantly improve quality of life.
Our work focuses on access, not sympathy. Through physiotherapy programmes, mobility aid distribution, breathing awareness initiatives, health screening camps and family counselling, we strive to make daily life more manageable and dignified. We stand beside patients and their families with practical support, informed guidance and long-term commitment - ensuring no individual living with Muscular Dystrophy feels invisible or unsupported.

What we do

Comprehensive Care in Action

We deliver structured programmes that address the daily realities of living with Muscular Dystrophy. Our work includes physiotherapy and rehabilitation support, breathing and lung exercise training, nutrition awareness sessions, and regular health screening camps conducted with medical guidance. These interventions aim to preserve mobility, strengthen respiratory function and improve overall well-being.

Beyond medical support, we provide electric wheelchairs and mobility aids to restore independence and confidence. We also offer counselling for families, recognising the emotional and financial strain of managing a lifelong genetic condition. Through awareness campaigns and advocacy efforts, we promote early screening, inclusion in healthcare schemes and greater public understanding – ensuring that care extends beyond treatment into dignity, access and community support.

Help Us Strengthen Every Breath

Your support enables physiotherapy, mobility aids, lung care training and health camps, helping individuals with Muscular Dystrophy breathe easier, move independently and live with dignity.

Our Journey

Born from witnessing silent struggles, our journey has grown through awareness campaigns, health camps and mobility support, expanding dignity and structured care across Maharashtra.

Community Recognition

The association began when a small group of concerned individuals saw families navigating Muscular Dystrophy without guidance or structured support. The absence of awareness and organised care demanded action.

Awareness Initiatives

We initiated awareness campaigns focused on breathing exercises, lung care education and Pranayama training during Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Month - bringing visibility to a largely unseen condition.

Medical & Screening Camps

Health check-up camps were organised across Maharashtra, offering patients medical consultations, respiratory assessments and structured advice in collaboration with medical professionals and public representatives.

Mobility Support

Electric wheelchair distribution programmes were launched to restore mobility and independence to individuals whose movement had become restricted.

Expanding Impact

Today, we continue to work towards establishing a dedicated Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre, strengthening CSR partnerships, and expanding our reach across districts in Maharashtra.
